ryans  > Ryan Photography > All Things Natural
As it says-- all things natural, I tried to limit this collection to things occurring without the aid of man.

ryans > This is a macro of some interesting coral I stumbled upon while walking on the reefs of Tarague Beach, Guam. I do not know its scientific name or its common name, but it is very pretty! The size of individual polyps is roughly 1cm, but the entire colony was well over the size of a bus.
ryans > The land isn't really blackened, but I wanted to accent the color of the water, which is brilliantly clear surrounding Guam. This overlook shows both Serena and Tarague Beach and the ancient cliffs of Guam.
ryans > Though difficult to see, the zig-zagging lines are actually bacteria colonies growing on cracks in the rock caused by volcanic activity. Apparently the bacteria feed off of whatever comes out of the deep!
ryans > The mountains of Anchorage, Alaska are being lit up by the reflected light of the sun off the golden aspen trees.
ryans > This camma-shaped form moved very quickly into the shapes captured in the following photos. The entire sky pulsated in rapid movement.
ryans > With each revolution, the storm began to spread outwardly in an asymmetric fashion towards the east.

ryans > I tried to arrange these photos in order of their shooting to show you the unfolding of this storm. Not all photos are included as there are many!
ryans > Near its full strength, the eye of th storm begins to spin quickly with an enlongating arm of light.

ryans > The remains of the eye stayed lit well into the night-- a scar on the earth's magnetic field?
ryans > Here is the remains of the eye. What you cannot see depicted in the photos is this rapid flashing from the low horizon upward to the center of this formation-- like a strobe light.
ryans > The eye peaked in intensity and the lights flooded eastward like liquid search lights into the horizon.
ryans > Near the peak of the corona as a passenger jet flies overhead (lower lefthand corner).
